What is RestoreTM by Stanley Steemer, and Why Was it Created?
The What
RestoreTM is Stanley Steemer’s in-duct air purification system. The mechanism gets installed above the coils inside your central air ductwork and captures air as it enters your HVAC system, then returns it clean, fresh, and free of contaminants.
In this way, RestoreTM is able to purify the air in every room of your house by starting with the source of the problem.

The Why
Biological and chemical compounds can’t be captured by a typical filter, and most can’t even be eliminated by getting your air ducts cleaned, so they remain in your system in perpetuity. This means roughly 2/3 of the harmful matter that enters your HVAC system goes unchecked.
Biological compounds in your air ducts are typically mold, mildew, bacteria, and viruses. These compounds accumulate in your ductwork through basic everyday living, and there’s very little you can do to prevent them from doing so. Chemical compounds often found in air ducts are smoke, odors, and industrial gasses from construction materials in your home that off-gas over time.
In other words, every candle you burn and every odor you create while cooking leads to more chemical compounds forming in your air ducts.
Ultimately, we don’t want you to stop burning your favorite candle, and although we’re happy to be your expert excuse to get takeout more often, we know it’s non-negotiable for you to be able to cook in your home.

How Does RestoreTM Work?
So, we’ve established that RestoreTM is effective against these harmful compounds, but how does it fight them?

- A UV light that sterilizes the compounds that have been caught
After these compounds are caught and sterilized, only harmless water vapor and carbon dioxide remain. These molecules are then released into the air duct system and returned to your home as fresh air.

How and When Can I Install RestoreTM?
We typically recommend installing RestoreTM directly after cleaning your air ducts. RestoreTM specifically targets the biological and chemical compounds that build up in your ductwork, so if your air ducts are dirty from dust and dander at the time of installation, you may still experience respiratory symptoms due to these particulates circulating throughout your house.
That said, if you don’t want to install RestoreTM right after your air duct cleaning, we’re happy to come out another time to complete the installation.
